Trash & Recycling

Trash & recycling in Norbeck Crossing is collected in two different ways.  Single family and townhome owners can place their trash and recycling at the curb at the end of the driveway.  Condominium residents should use the trash and recycling dumpsters in the trash corrals.

The information below is primarily related to curbside trash and recycling collection in the single family and townhome sections of the community.

Household Trash

Household trash is collected every Monday and Thursday.

Your trash should be placed in covered trash cans at the curb at the end of your driveway.  Trash should be placed out for pick-up no earlier than sunset of the evening before collection.

Household trash includes anything that is not collected by County Recycling, scrap metal, bulk waste or hazardous materials. Questions concerning household trash collection can be directed to TMGA or Refuse Removal Results.

Recycling

Recycling is collected every Thursday.  It should be packaged as noted below, then placed at the curb in front of your home by no earlier than sunset of the evening before collection.  You can sign up to receive updates from the County regarding changes to the recycling schedule and other information.

Commingled Materials – Commingled recycling includes cans, bottles, plastic containers and other mixed materials.  They should be placed in a blue recycling bin (available for free from the Montgomery County Department of Environmental Protection).

Yard Waste – Yard waste includes grass clippings, leaves, tree branches, trimmings from shrubs and other garden waste.  Tree branches should be bundled with string (each bundle should be no more than 4′ in length and 12″ in diameter).  All other debris should be placed in paper bags (not plastic) or in plastic containers clearly marked as containing yard waste.

Newspapers, Magazines, Cardboard Boxes and Paper –  Paper recycling should be placed in paper bags (not plastic) or in a blue recycling toter that can be obtained from the Montgomery County Department of Environmental Protection.

Bulk Trash

Bulk trash that is mostly metal (e.g. appliances, exercise equipment, etc.) will be picked up by Montgomery County as part of their recycling services.  You must make advance arrangements with Montgomery County Recycling before your items will be collected.

Bulk trash that is not mostly made of metal (e.g. furniture) will be picked up by Refuse Removal Results.  You must first make arrangements with the trash company before putting your trash out for collection.
